Bruce Springsteen performs “Streets of Minneapolis” on the May 20 episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”

Bruce Springsteen sang a slow solo acoustic version of his protest song “Streets of Minneapolis” on the second-to-last episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” after saying a few words about why he was doing the show.

“Stephen … I am here in support tonight for Stephen, because you are the first guy in America who lost his show because we got a President who can’t take a joke,” Springsteen said. “And because Larry and David Ellison feel they need to kiss his ass to get what they want. Anyway … Stephen, these are small-minded people. They got no idea what the freedoms of this beautiful country are supposed to be about. This is for you.”

Behind Springsteen, an American flag and words such as “Resistance,” “Hope” and “Truth” could be seen.

Here is the introduction and the performance:

Springsteen previously appeared on Colbert’s show in 2016, 2020 (virtually) and 2021. You can see clips from those appearances, HERE.

No guests have been announced for Colbert’s last “Late Show,” Nov. 21.
