The New York-based band Wheatus’ 2000 single was a minor hit in The United States but a bigger hit in Europe and Australia. And it made a big impression on Ed Sheeran, who was just a kid at the time, in England. And at Sheeran’s Sept. 5 concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, he invited Wheatus member Brendan B. Brown, who wrote and sang it, to perform it with him.

You can watch the performance below, along with a video of Sheeran and Camila Cabello performing their 2022 collaboration “Bam Bam” live at MetLife at the first of Sheeran’s two shows there, Sept. 4.

Before “Bam Bam,” Sheeran talked about the strength of his friendship with Cabello. “We hung out earlier today,” he said, “and I was like, ‘We should sing the song.’ It’s one of my favorite songs that I’ve done. I can’t wait to play it.”

Sheeran previously performed “Teenage Dirtbag” with members of his high school band — who used to cover it — and Brown, at a concert last summer, in Hamburg Germany.

Before the MetLife performance of the song, Sheeran mentioned that Hamburg show, and said he and the others in his high school band hadn’t played together in public for 20 years before that. “It was so much fun, and I’ve remained really good mates with this guy I’m going to bring onstage,” he said.
