Thirty Shore-based musicians have recorded Bruce Springsteen’s “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day” as a benefit single.

Thirty Shore-based musicians, including the late Clarence Clemons’ son Jarod, have recorded a socially distanced, group version of Bruce Springsteen’s upbeat anthem “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day” as a benefit for the Asbury Park Music Foundation, which provides music education program for under-served youths.

You can see the video below.

The participants are, in alphabetical order: Patty C, Jarod Clemons, Matt Cook, Tara Dente, Rachel Ana Dobken, Luke Dowler, Kevin Duggan, Brian Erickson, Natalie Farrell, Matt Fernicola, Owen Flanagan, Ryan Gregg, Zach Kornhauser, Ray Laux, Bobby Mahoney, Mark Masefield, Jessie McCormick, Ashley McKinley, Chad Morales, Lou Panico, Joe Pomarico, Avery Rose Puryear, Nick Ryan, Zack Sandler, Dillon Schindler, Deseree Spinks, Mike Squillace, Marc Tappan, Taylor Tote and Max Viner.

The Asbury Park-based label Telegraph Hill spearheaded the effort, pulling together the video from footage made by the musicians, individually. Many of the the artists have released music on the label, previously.

Springsteen released “Waitin’ on a Sunny Day” on his 2002 album The Rising and has continued to perform it frequently at his concerts since then, often as an audience participation number.

Thanks for a beautiful cover of this song, one we’ve gotten so used to as a concert staple over the past 18 years. And appropriate: In our lives, in good times and in bad, Bruce is always there, channeling everything we feel and giving voice to it. After all these years, he remains the adult in the room — the musical conscience of America.
