AC/DC’s Power Up Tour, their first in eight years, will come to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on Sept. 25, with The Pretty Reckless opening. Tickets will go on sale Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.; visit ticketmaster.com.
There will also be a show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Sept. 29.
The band currently consists of guitarists Angus Young and Stevie Young, singer Brian Johnson, drummer Matt Laug and bassist Chris Chaney.
Stevie Young joined the band in 2014, replacing his uncle Malcolm Young, who retired due to dementia that year, and died in 2017. Stevie is the son of Stephen Young Sr., the older brother of Angus and Malcolm. (Stephen Young Sr. died in 1989.)
Laug — whose previous credits include Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper and Slash’s Snakepit — joined in 2023. Chaney, formerly of Jane’s Addiction, became the group’s touring bassist last year.
Angus Young is one of the band’s co-founders. Brian Johnson became its frontman after Bon Scott died in 1980.
The Power Up Tour, named for AC/DC’s 2020 album, began in the summer of 2024, in Europe. This year, there have been more shows in Europe, plus a North American leg, and an upcoming (mid-November to mid-December) Australian leg. Next year’s shows will take place in South America and Mexico from February to April, and then in The United States and Canada from July to September.
