Elvis Presley will fight crime in an upcoming Netflix animated series.

A 10-episode animated comedy/action series titled “Agent Elvis,” co-created by Jersey rocker John Eddie, will debut in March on Netflix, with Matthew McConaughey voicing the title character. In the series, according to Netflix, “Elvis Presley trades in his jumpsuit for a jetpack to battle the dark forces that threaten the country — all while holding down his day job as the King of Rock and Roll.”

In a “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” interview, McConaughey called Agent Elvis “an ass-kicking vigilante by night, and I’ve got a chimpanzee as my crime-fighting sidekick.”

You can watch a minute-long teaser for the series, below.

Eddie is also co-showrunner and co-executive producer of the series, which he created with Priscilla Presley, who was married to Elvis from 1967 to 1973 and is a co-founder of Elvis Presley Enterprises. Among the show’s other contributors, John Varvatos designed Agent Elvis’ wardrobe.

This is the first series for adults by Sony Pictures Animations, whose previous projects include “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “The Mitchells vs. The Machines” and the “Hotel Transylvania” movies.

Eddie, who now lives in Nashville but was a major presence on the New Jersey rock scene for many years, posted on his Facebook page, when the show was initially announced in 2019, that he’s been working on the series “for a long time … years actually … but I didn’t really tell a lot of people … I kinda kept it to myself because I wanted to wait and see if it was actually going to happen … well, it’s really happening!”
