Micky Dolenz of The Monkees, Todd Rundgren and Christopher Cross will be among the musicians performing songs from The Beatles’ self-titled 1968 double album (commonly known as The White Album) on a tour that will make three Jersey stops in the fall.
Jason Scheff (formerly of Chicago) and Joey Molland (formerly of Badfinger) will also participate in the shows, which are titled “It Was Fifty Years Ago Today: A Tribute to The Beatles’ White Album.” Joey Curatolo, the musical director of “Rain: A Tribute to The Beatles,” will serve in that capacity on this tour, too.
The shows will feature some of the five musicians’ own material in addition to the White Album songs. Promotional material for the tour does not say the album will be performed in its entirety, so some songs (including, presumably, “Revolution 9”) will probably be absent from the setlists.
Tickets go on sale June 7 at 10 a.m. for shows at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, Sept. 21.; and the St. George Theatre in Staten Island, Oct. 10.
Tickets will also go on sale June 7 at noon for shows at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury in Westbury, N.Y., Oct. 12.; the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown, Oct. 13; the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pa., Oct. 15; and the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Oct. 17.
Seventeen shows are currently confirmed, with “additional shows to be announced soon,” according to a press release.
