To honor the late Prince, many AMC theaters throughout the country will be screening Prince’s 1984 breakthrough film, “Purple Rain,” at various times, through April 28. These are the New Jersey theaters that will be doing so; visit their web sites to find out the specific times.
The Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank will also screen the movie, for free, April 24 at 8 p.m.
Prince died April 21, at the age of 57.
In another tribute, SiriusXM satellite radio will be playing Prince’s music — as well as “music by artists that Prince was closely linked to, inspired by and collaborated with,” according to a message on its web site — on its channel 50. SiriusXM has not yet announced how long the channel will stay devoted to Prince.
