BlowUpRadio.com’s final broadcast takes place Jan. 30-31.
BlowUpRadio.com will celebrate its final weekend, Jan. 30-31, with a two-day “Blowing Up the Radio!” broadcast featuring in-studio performances by some of the Jersey artists that the Internet radio station has championed over the years.
BlowUpRadio.com founder Larry “Lazlo” Seltzer says the station is closing because of a steep increase in royalties demanded by the Copyright Royalty Board, which led to the decision of BlowUpRadio.com’s host, Live365, to close on Jan. 31.
“Rest assured that even though this is the end of our internet radio stream, I am already hard at work on the next phase of how BlowUpRadio.com will continue to promote New Jersey’s indie music scene,” Lazlo said in a press release.
Performers scheduled to appear include 1L & Chris Rockwell, Catherine Wacha, Deena & Jon of The Cumbers, Diego Allessandro, Fun While You Wait, Jersey Drive, Jonathan Andrew, Mike Oregano, Renee Maskin, Sean Faust, Shotgun Bill, Staten & Shabazz Talib, The Wailing Kids and Tommy Strazza.
