Eric Meola took the cover photo for “Best of Bruce Springsteen.”

Of little interest to most of Bruce Springsteen’s current fans, who already own all these songs — but possibly a useful anthology for future, maybe not-yet-born Springsteen fans — a new greatest hits album, Best of Bruce Springsteen, will be released on April 19. The 18 songs will be available as a CD or a double vinyl album; there will also be an expanded, 31-song digital edition.

The cover photo is by Eric Meola — an outtake from the Born to Run cover photo session. The liner notes will be Erik Flannigan.

Springsteen, of course, has released greatest hits albums before, but this will be his first to cover material all the way up to his 2020 Letter to You album.

Springsteen’s 2024 touring will begin March 19, at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.
