Bruce Springsteen will host a 90-minute show on SiriusXM’s satellite radio’s E Street Radio (channel 20), April 8 at 10 a.m. (EDT), titled “From His Home to Yours” and featuring him playing recorded (not live) music.

“I am here to wish you well and to play you some songs that kind of work with the times that we’re living through,” he said in a promotional clip that played on E Street Radio this morning. This will include songs by Roy Orbison, Sam Cooke, Don Henley, Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Patti Scialfa, Wyclef Jean and others.

The promotional clip also featured him saying, “This is a song that’s been sung whenever people are going through hard times, for a long time,” and then a bit of his version of the anthem, “We Shall Overcome.”

E Street Radio host Jim Rotolo posted on Facebook: “Bruce will be playing songs and sharing thoughts about the times we live in.”

SiriusXM is offering free streaming of its channels through May 15.

“With so many people asked to stay at home, we are making our full streaming lineup of music, entertainment, news and information easily accessible to everyone,” said SiriusXM CEO Jim Meyer in a press release, last week. “In the days ahead, we hope it’s a valuable source of information or diversion, a generous mix of fresh live content, and a source of companionship that comes from the hosts on our many shows and channels.”
