Howard Stern has announced that Bruce Springsteen will be a guest on his SiriusXM satellite radio show (channel 100), sometime in October.

(OCT. 18 UPDATE: According to a commercial on SiriusXM, the appearance will take place on Oct. 31.)

“I’m so excited about it,” said Stern on his “Howard Stern Show,” today. “He’s going to bring his guitar. We’re gonna sit, we’re gonna talk. It’s gonna be very nice.”

“It’s everything that we ever wanted, when you have a guy like that on the show,” added the show’s executive producer, Gary Dell’Abate, on the air. “He’s going to spend time with you, he’s going to bring his guitar. When it comes up, if you talk about how was a song written … (he’ll talk about it). It’s anything any fan would want.”

Stern joked, “Bruce better bring a tent and camp out. I’m already up to about 500 questions for him.”

One of the main topics of conversation will surely be Springsteen’s upcoming album of soul covers, Only the Strong Survive, which will be released on Nov. 11.

Stern has never interviewed Springsteen before, and has sometimes talked about how badly he wants Springsteen to come on the show, joking that he feels like a “spurned lover” because Springsteen has never done it. And he has called seeing “Springsteen on Broadway,” in 2017, “one of the most moving nights of my life.”
