Cake Boss to co-host online benefit for Hoboken Relief Fund

Buddy “The Cake Boss” Valastro — whose baking and reality show empire began at his family’s business, Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken — will co-host an online, socially distanced benefit for the newly formed Hoboken Relief Fund, May 16 at 6 p.m. on the city of Hoboken’s Facebook page.

Fund organizers aim to raise $2 million to be distributed to Hoboken-based small businesses and individuals affected by the coronavirus crisis. Donations can be made and grants can be applied for at hobokenrelieffund.com.

Hoboken mayor Ravi Bhalla will co-host with Valastro, and musical performers and other participants will include (in alphabetical order) Ron Albanese (also known as children’s entertainer Polka Dot), 2016 Hoboken Sinatra Singing Contest winner Zack Alexander, Richard Barone, Jeremy Beck, Peter Biancamano, Julio Fernandez (of Spyro Gyra), The Fuzzy Lemons (featuring Dana Harrison and Dave Lambert), Garden Street School of the Performing Arts, Gene D. Plumber, Karyn Kuhl, Little RocknRollers (children’s group), former “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Chris Manzo, James Mastro, The Mile Square Theatre Company, Glenn Morrow, Abbe Rivers, Rockness Music (family-oriented rock), Deena Shoshkes and Jon Fried (of The Cucumbers), Jack Silbert, Jack Skuller, Elena Skye and Boo Reiners (of The Demolition String Band), Twiddling Thumbs, Emily Turonis, Gary Van Miert (of The Sensational Country Blues Wonders), spoken-word artist Adam Wade, and Andrew Wholf.
