Dylan Hartigan, a singer-songwriter from Wyckoff, is one of the few musical performers with a tour scheduled for this summer. The Boxcar transportation app, which is presenting drive-in movies in various New Jersey towns this summer, has booked him to perform acoustic sets before 15 of them. For information on the movies, visit boxcarapp.com/movies.
Some of the movie/music events have taken place already but the remaining ones are listed below.
Hartigan, who competed on television’s “The Voice” in 2018, says in a press release: “This was an idea myself and my manager had while at a drive-in theater and it was such a light bulb moment for me. It also fuels my fire to perform live and gives me that joy back. I’ve never had playing music taken away from me so quickly and now that I figured out a way to do it (safely) I’m not gonna stop.”
Here are the dates for his upcoming drive-in appearances:
June 17: Bernardsville
July 7 and 14: East Hanover
July 8 and Aug. 13: Springfield
July 22 and Aug. 5 and 18: Berkeley Heights
July 23: Springfield
July 25-27: Westwood
July 29: TBA
Aug. 6: Boonton Township
