BRUCE “COUSIN BRUCIE” MORROW
Veteran DJ Bruce “Cousin Brucie” Morrow, who previously presented “Palisades Park Reunion” shows at State Fair Meadowlands in East Rutherford, will do so this year at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel. Tony Orlando, Bobby Rydell and The Capris will perform at the show, which takes place at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26.
“Here’s What You’ve Been Waiting For … So Cuz Come On Over,” wrote Morrow on his Facebook page.
The show is free, although donations to the Garden State Arts Foundation will be welcomed. The foundation has been presenting free classical, jazz and pop shows such as this one at the PNC Bank Arts Center (originally known as the Garden State Arts Center) since 1999. Free shows will also be offered this year featuring Vinnie Medugno and The Coda Band, Sept. 8; Gary Puckett and The Association, Sept. 14; and Jay Siegel’s Tokens and Ron Dante, Sept. 28.

A radio mainstay in the New York area since the 1960s, Morrow can currently be heard from 6 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays on “Cousin Brucie’s Saturday Night Rock & Roll Party” on WABC (770 AM and 107.1 FM). The show is followed by “Saturday Nights With Tony Orlando,” from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Orlando’s career peaked in the ’70s with hits such as “Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree,” “Knock Three Times” and “Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose.”

Great, I’ll add to story.
I grew up there marching from our elementary schools. Every family in the towns had a Golden Ticket. Miss our Park! What a way to grow up in safety. The free shows, competitions, dancing, singing stars, the circus, the pin ball and bowling machines, the food- especially the fries and cotton candy, the carousel and all the rides from kiddie to the cyclone. Hello Cousin Brucie and Tony Orlando! So great that you are in tribute wirh the nostalgic and most amazing amusement park of the day-PALISADES AMUSEMENT PARK! Have you considered aniother act who had graced the PAP stage in the 60’s with their big hit, YOU BELONG TO ME, by, and I know who you know who they are-THE DUPREES who were all brought up in Jersey, (Jersey City to be exact)? I was only six years old, but I will always remember how Mom, Dad and I were so proud to see their son and my brother, John Salvato, (who is the survivng,original member and originator of the Duprees), sing on that famous PAP stage-still can feel that surge of excitement and honor as if it were yesterday. Thank you for making yesterday today, dear Cuz and Tony. May you have the best swingin’ swarey yet!
