DJ RICH RUSSO
DJ Rich Russo — who debuted a special titled “A Christmas Chord With Rich Russo,” last year — is doing Vol. 2 of the series, this year, a little differently. Starting yesterday and continuing on weekdays at 10 a.m. through Dec. 24, he is sharing a video a day on richrusso.net/achristmaschord and YouTube.

The first episode, Dec. 10, featured John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls and focused on “You Ain’t Getting Nothin’,” a song from the new Goo Goo Dolls holiday album, It’s Christmas All Over. Other guests will include Steven Van Zandt (Dec. 19), Tegan Quin of Tegan and Sara (Dec. 17), and ZouZou Mansour of Soraia (Dec. 15).
“The Christmas music genre is fascinating; there’s just so much that has not been heard,” said Russo in a press release. “Some of the reasons are logical and others just got lost in the shuffle but it’s fun to get them out there and to discuss and show some factoids that pop up while the song is playing. This year I added a twist by interviewing some of my favorite artists who have released new holiday music and it’s neat to hear how they came up with their songs.”
Russo’s “The Jersey Guy Does Jersey” show is now in its fifth year on Van Zandt’s Underground Garage channel on SiriusXM satellite radio (channel 21), and he also hosts the syndicated radio show, “Anything Anything.” Visit richrusso.net.
