“Fare Thee Well,” the last series of shows by The Grateful Dead, takes place July 3-5 in Chicago.

Okay, so you’re not going to be able to get to Chicago this weekend, to see the last Grateful Dead shows ever. But you can watch every song right here in New Jersey, via simulcasts that will be presented in eight theaters.

To buy tickets for these theaters, or theaters in other states that will be offering the simulcast as well, visit fathomevents.com.

Here are the New Jersey theaters:

CLIFTON: Clifton Commons 16 with IMAX
HAZLET: Hazlet 12
PARAMUS: Garden State 16 with IMAX
ROCKAWAY: Rockaway 16 with IMAX
SOMERDALE: Movies 16
TOMS RIVER: Seacourt 10
TRENTON: Hamilton 24 with IMAX
WAYNE: Wayne 14

There will also be live streams on the internet at YouTube.com/dead50 ($29.95 per show), on satellite TV and cable TV (visit Dead50.net/watch-listen), and on Sirius XM satellite radio.

The “Fare Thee Well” concerts take place at Soldier Field in Chicago, July 3-5; they celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band’s formation and the 20th anniversary of their last show with Jerry Garcia, also at Soldier Field.

Original members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann, Phil Lesh and Bob Weir say this will be the last time they perform together. They are being joined at these shows by guitarist Trey Anastasio and keyboardists Jeff Chimenti and Bruce Hornsby.

Lesh said in a press release that the shows are intended to celebrate “not merely the band’s legacy, but also the community that weÂ’’ve been playing to, and with, for fifty years.”

The simulcast is awesome! Great job filming, sound is terrific (not too loud or too soft) and watching it in the comfort of the theater is perfect. I lifted some of the arms and laid down during drums! Get out and join us. You’ll see why they chose Trey!
