Kyle Brendle, one of the behind-the-scene giants of the Asbury Park music scene, recently had emergency spinal surgery, and friends of his have established a GoFundMe.com Recovery Fund to help him with his medical bills.
Brendle has been booking and promoting concerts at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park for more than 30 years, and is well known to the nightclub’s regular patrons. His Facebook page describes his job as “minister of good times” at the Pony.
The fundraising page is at gofundme.com/kyle-brendles-recovery-fund.
According to a message there:
We are reaching out to you to benefit our mutual, dear friend and legendary Stone Pony House Promoter Kyle Brendle. Kyle had been suffering with severe and a rare spinal condition since January. On May 23rd he was admitted to the Jersey Shore Medical Center to have emergency spinal surgery to repair his spine. While the surgery was a success other related health issues had impacted and prolonged his recovery.
Kyle has made great progress in getting through these challenges but his rehabilitation will take some time. He is currently in a rehabilitation facility anticipating a full recovery. This Go Fund Me page is to help Kyle offset his anticipated medical bills that will be forthcoming. We hope to get your support to contribute. We are happy to report that Kyle will be back in action soon with a new perspective and commitment to his craft.
We need to see Kyle back in Asbury Park at The Stone Pony as soon as possible. Any excess donations will be donated to a local Asbury Park cause.
