Janet Jackson postpones tour, again

Janet Jackson's Feb. 17 concert at the Prudential Center in Newark has been postponed.

Janet Jackson has postponed the next leg of her Unbreakable World Tour, which had had three Jersey stops.

In January, Janet Jackson postponed her February concert at the Prudential Center to Aug. 17, saying she needed to take some time off to have surgery. But now that show has been postponed again. Her entire next leg of her Unbreakable World Tour, in fact — which also had included shows at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, June 11, and the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, June 2 — has been postponed, with the new dates not yet available.

Jackson released a video (viewable below) in which she tells her fans, in part, “my husband and I are planning our family, so I’m going to have to delay the tour. Please, if you can try to understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor’s orders. But I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can.”

Jackson, 49, does not say in the video if she is pregnant, or just trying to conceive, and has not issued any other statement.

The first leg of Jackson’s tour took place from August to November. She had been scheduled to resume touring, starting in May.
