Jeff Lynne’s ELO is coming to the Prudential Center in Newark in 2019.

Jeff Lynne will perform with Electric Light Orchestra (or, as he prefers to call the band now, Jeff Lynne’s ELO) in New Jersey for the first time since 1981 in the summer of 2019; the band’s North American dates will include a concert at the Prudential Center in Newark, July 16.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 29 at 10 a.m., with presales beginning Oct. 23 at 10 a.m., via Ticketmaster.com. There will also be a show July 13 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.

Lynne, also known as a member of The Traveling Wilburys, had very little to do with the band from 1986 to 2014, but has been recording and touring with them (as Jeff Lynne’s ELO) frequently since then. Only one other musician from The Electric Light Orchestra’s ’70s and early ’80s glory days, keyboardist Richard Tandy, is involved.

The setlists of two shows at Madison Square Garden in New York this summer included Electric Light Orchestra hits such as “Evil Woman,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Can’t Get It Out of My Head,” “Telephone Line” and “Don’t Bring Me Down,” as well as the Wilburys’ “Handle With Care.”

The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2017.
