In what has become a nearly annual tradition since 2011 (he missed only 2014), country superstar Kenny Chesney will perform at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford next summer.
The show will be on Aug. 18, and will feature opening sets by Thomas Rhett, Old Dominion and Brandon Lay. It’s scheduled as the second-to-last show on his Trip Around the Sun Tour, which will visit stadiums around the country, beginning in April.
Tickets will go on sale Oct. 27 at 10 a.m., with various pre-sales starting Oct. 18. For information, visit kennychesney.com.
Chesney’s last studio album was Cosmic Hallelujah, released one year ago. He is planning to put out a two-CD concert album, Live in No Shoes Nation, on Oct. 27.
The concert album will feature guest appearances by Taylor Swift, Eric Church, Dave Matthews, Grace Potter, The Zac Brown Band and others, and one of the songs will be a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “One Step Up.”
