Leon Russell, who headlined the fall Hoboken Arts and Music Festival in 2009, will return this year for the festival’s spring edition, May 1. There is no admission charge for this annual event.

Other performers on the three stages that will be on Washington Street in downtown Hoboken (along with more than 300 art displays, food vendors and other attractions) will include Smokey’s Round-Up (featuring Smokey Hormel), The Amazing Incredibles, Tony Corrao (singing Frank Sinatra songs), Emily & the Ideals, Amanda Holley, Chrissy Roberts, Carol Lester of ABC Sing With Me!, Michael & the Rockness Monsters, and the Stevens Jazz Quartet. One of the three stages will be devoted to children’s entertainment.
Russell, 73, is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer whose hits, as a recording artist or songwriter, include “A Song for You,” “Delta Lady’,” “This Masquerade” and “Superstar.”
His high-profile collaborative album with Elton John, The Union, came out in 2010.
