The Lighthouse International Film Festival takes place June 16-20.

The 12th edition of the Lighthouse International Film Festival, taking place June 16-20 on Long Beach Island, will have a drive-in format in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. It is being promoted as “New Jersey’s First Event Drive-In Film Fest.”

The festival had originally been scheduled to take place two weeks earlier but has been pushed back because of the change, and its usual parties, panel discussions and networking events won’t be happening.

“While COVID19 put our daily lives on hold, it also shut down the window to the alternative universe of imagination, creation, and art that is cinema,” said LIFF executive director Amir Bogen, in a press release. “Lighthouse International Film Festival is here to reopen this window on the big screen, as part of LBI’s rejuvenation. While the drive-in option is being discussed in several festivals around the world, LIFF is willing to lead the way and make it happen for LBI’s amazing community and our fabulous filmmakers.”

The list of locations and the schedule of screenings are not yet available. For information and updates, visit lighthousefilmfestival.org or facebook.com/LIFFofLBI.
