Lineup finalized for Rockland-Bergen Music Festival

by JAY LUSTIG

The lineup has been announced for this year\’s Rockland-Bergen Music Festival.

The initial lineup was announced a few weeks ago, but the complete lineup has now been announced for the fifth annual Rockland-Bergen Music Festival, taking place June 22-24. Performers will include Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Steve Forbert, Joe Grushecky, Jeffrey Gaines, Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan, Jim Boggia’s “Bruce Off Broadway” (ukulele-and-vocals versions of Springsteen songs) and more.

As opposed to past years, there will be just one, not two days of music at German Masonic Park in Tappan, N.Y. That is scheduled for Sat., June 23. But there will also be shows at the Turning Point in Piermont, N.Y., June 22-23, and a Bluegrass Brunch at the ’76 House in Tappan, N.Y., June 24.

At German Masonic Park, there will be two stages, and the sets will be staggered so that attendees can move to one area to the other and not miss anything. There will also be an area where nonprofit organizations will offer information.

“In total there will be 15 organizations on site and I personally hope that every music fan that comes to the Festival makes a connection, in some way or another, with at least one organization,” said festival organizer Joe D’Urso in a press release. “That was the genesis of my thought process when putting this all together. I come from a Harry Chapin/Pete Seeger school of thinking at times and I truly believe we all live better/fuller lives when involved with organizations and people who have ‘live hearts and live minds.'”

Tickets for German Masonic Park are $40 through May 20, $43 from May 21 to June 3, $46 from June 4 to June 17, and $50 after that. Children 12 and younger will be admitted free (with an adult); so will anyone born in the year 1968. Day-of-show tickets for high school and college students will be $20.
