VIN SCELSA
The legendary disk jockey Vin Scelsa announced his retirement in March, but tonight really marks the end of the road for him, as City Winery in New York is presenting a “Vin Scelsa Fare Thee Well Concert” that is being taped and will be broadcast on WFUV-FM July 4.
Tickets were not sold to the general public, but were given to WFUV listeners in return for donations. A longtime disk jockey on WNEW and other New York stations, Scelsa has most recently been on both WFUV and Sirius XM satellite radio.
Disk jockey Rich Russo has been tweeting live from the venue, and just the photos alone will bring back memories for anyone who ever has been a regular Scelsa listener.
