Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken will present its annual “7th Inning Stretch” online this year.

“7th Inning Stretch” is an annual tradition at Mile Square Theatre in Hoboken, offering seven new 10-minute plays about baseball in a single night. With the theater now closed (and baseball stadiums also closed, for that matter), MST will present “7th Inning Stretch” in online form this year, though instead of seven short plays, it will feature an assortment of short plays, sketches and musical performances.

Participants will include Yankees pitcher Adam Ottavino, former “Saturday Night Live” cast member Gary Kroeger, opera singer Kevin Short and 12 actors whose credits range from various past MST productions to Broadway: Matt Bittner, Michael Emerson, Joseph Gallo, Ellen Lancaster, Matilda Lawler, Matt Lawler, Thomas Lennon, Raymond McAnally, Ames McNamara, Barbara Pitts McAdams, Catherine Porter and Jim Vallance.

Streamings will take place June 19 at 7 p.m., June 20 at 3 and 7 p.m. and June 21 at 3 p.m., with links available for $20 or, for those who want to support the theater with a larger payment, $30, $40, $75 or $100. Visit

Hoboken’s Elysian Fields was the site of the first organized baseball game, in 1845, with the diamond believed to be located around where Washington Street and 11th Street now intersect.
