Montclair Film, which had to cancel its annual Montclair Film Festival this year (it was scheduled for May 1-10), will experiment with drive-in movies at Montclair State University, June 12-14.

The three scheduled films are the 1986 comedy “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” June 12 at 8:30 p.m.; the 2016 animated movie “Sing,” June 13 at 8:30 p.m.; and “John Lewis: Good Trouble,” a new documentary about the Georgia congressman and activist (see trailer below), June 14 at 8:30 p.m.

The screenings will take place in the university’s parking lot 20. According to a message on the Montclair Film web site, “All films begin promptly at sunset, and ticketed patrons should plan to arrive early in order to follow strict safety precautions for the screenings. Patrons are encouraged to bring snacks from home as no on-site food service will be provided. A full set of detailed plans and protocols will be e-mailed to each ticket buyer ahead of each screening, and will be enforced without exception to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.”

Tickets are $25 per car, for each movie.
