Pre-sales started today for The Rolling Stones’ June 13 concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford (the general on-sale is on Nov. 30 at 10 a.m.), and so I went online to see what I could find. There were $69.50 tickets, and $99.50 tickets, and $399.50 tickets, as well as platinum tickets, which, according to ticketmaster.com, are “dynamically priced up and down based on demand.”
Indeed, the prices for platinum tickets do indeed fluctuate. In just a few minutes, I found platinum tickets available for $1,171, $1,441 and $1,548. I clicked on the $1,548 one (see photo at right), and found that there was also a service fee of $229.10, and a $5 order processing fee, bringing the total to $1,782.10.
Believe it or not, I declined the offer.
In case you were wondering: This would have been for the ticket only. No backstage access, or memorabilia, or anything else was included, as is sometimes the case when dealing with top-level tickets.
Here is the link for tickets. When asked for the code, use “MIDNIGHT”.
The Stones’ No Filter tour is currently scheduled to include 13 United States stadium shows. Other stops will include Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, June 4, and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., June 8.
(Update: A second show in East Rutherford, June 17, has been added to the tour.)
