Steve Hackman will present his “Beethoven X Beyoncé” show with New Jersey Symphony at NJPAC, Oct. 24.
Composer and conductor Steve Hackman will present his “Beethoven X Beyoncé” concert with New Jersey Symphony, plus guest singers and instrumentalists, Oct. 24 at Prudential Hall at NJPAC in Newark. Tickets will go on sale June 27 at 10 a.m.; visit njsymphony.org.
In this project, according to a press release, “Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony, the symphonic repertoire’s most joyful and exuberant celebration of dance, is the canvas onto which fifteen of Beyoncé’s most popular songs across her entire catalog are interwoven, including ‘Girls,’ ‘Crazy in Love,’ ‘Sorry,’ ‘Cuff It,’ ‘Single Ladies,’ and of course, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’
“The production’s emotional peak is when two of the most recognizable melodies from each composer are intertwined: ‘Halo’ and the hauntingly beautiful second movement of the Beethoven.”
Hackman’s previous symphonic projects include include “Brahms X Radiohead,” “The Resurrection Mixtape (Mahler X Notorious BIG X Tupac Shakur),” “Tchaikovsky X Drake” and “Beethoven X Coldplay.” Check out “Creep,” from his “Brahms X Radiohead” show, below.
Beyoncé could not be reached for comment.
Beyonce’s five shows at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford in May represented the first time an artist has performed at New Jersey’s largest concert venue five times on a single tour.
