The next hour-long episode of NJ PBS’ Soundcheck series will be devoted to performance highlights and interviews with the honorees from the American Music Honors show at the Pollak Theater at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, April 15. The show honored Steven Van Zandt, Darlene Love, Sam Moore and Steve Earle, and featured performances by all of them along with Southside Johnny and Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul Band.

Jon Stewart hosted the show, and Bruce Springsteen, who had COVID at the time, taped video tributes to Van Zandt and Love.

You can read my review of the event HERE.

The show previews at 9:30 p.m. June 27 on NJ PBS public television, and will be streamed at NJPBS.org/live.

The full episode will be posted on the NJ PBS Soundcheck page after the broadcast.

The event itself raised money for programs and outreach efforts of the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University.
