NJArts.net launched on Sept. 15, 2014. Eight years and one pandemic later, we’re still going strong and are now established — we believe, and hope you will agree — as New Jersey’s leading arts site.
A Facebook fundraiser for the site that started last year on Jay Lustig’s 60th birthday (Aug. 31) was quite successful, and really helped our ability to make more writing, by more writers, available on the site since then. Stephen Whitty (movies), Tris McCall (visual art) and Courtney Smith (classical music) have become regular contributors, and we also have been able to use other writers, occasionally, more than we’ve been able to in the past.
This year, we’re starting a Facebook fundraiser today, in conjunction with the anniversary of the site itself. The fundraiser will continue through Sept. 28. You can donate here, to help keep the site strong.
There’s a lot going with the site right now, including:
• An upcoming benefit concert, headlined by one of the greatest living singer-songwriters and guitarists (and, recently, a New Jersey resident), Richard Thompson, taking place at the Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair, Jan. 14. (Tickets are available here).
• The recent debut of our new logo (see above), designed by Krista Schult.
• We’re very excited that NJArts.net will have its first extern, this fall, via Montclair State University.
Besides that, it’s just the usual: More and more posts, every year, with arts-related news stories, reviews, previews, in-depth interviews, commentary, etc. Stuff you can’t get anywhere else.
We need your help!
CONTRIBUTE TO NJARTS.NET
Since launching in September 2014, NJArts.net, a 501(c)(3) organization, has become one of the most important media outlets for the Garden State arts scene. And it has always offered its content without a subscription fee, or a paywall. Its continued existence depends on support from members of that scene, and the state’s arts lovers. Please consider making a contribution of any amount to NJArts.net via PayPal, or by sending a check made out to NJArts.net to 11 Skytop Terrace, Montclair, NJ 07043.
