Paper Mill Playhouse announces 2022-23 season: ‘Hercules,’ ‘Rent,’ ‘On Your Feet!’ and more

The Paper Mill Playhouse’s 2022-23 season will include “Hercules,” “Rent” and other shows.

Four musicals and a murder mystery are on the schedule for the 2022-23 season at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn. And among the musicals is “Disney’s Hercules,” which ran at the Delacorte Theater in New York in 2018 and features music by Alan Menken (“The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin”).

Also planned are productions of “On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan,” which ran on Broadway from 2015 to 2017; Ken Ludwig’s adaptation of “Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express,” which premiered at the McCarter Theatre Center in Princeton in 2017; “The Sound of Music,” which will run during this year’s holiday season; and “Rent,” which celebrated, last year, the 25th anniversary of the start of its long Off-Broadway/Broadway run.

When will you lift the mandatory vaccine mandate to attend a show? This is discrimination at its finest and needs to be stopped. Many venues across NJ have ended this discrimination and so should the Papermill Playhouse.
