Bettye LaVette has set March 30 as the release date for Things Have Changed, a collection of Bob Dylan covers, on the Verve label

LaVette, who lives in West Orange, talked about some of the songs in a press release: “I had never really listened to ‘It Ain’t Me Babe,’ ” she said. “But I had to make it more dismissive — not fast and hard, but like a Jimmy Reed tune. And ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’,’ I had to flip that all the way around, so we worked up the groove on a beat box. That just made it extremely surprising.”

The album was produced by drummer Steve Jordan, and features former Dylan collaborator Larry Campbell on guitar, Pino Palladino on bass, and Leon Pendarvis on keyboards, as well as Keith Richards on one song (“Political World)” and Trombone Shorty on another (“What Was It You Wanted.”).

LaVette’s upcoming shows include The Iridium in New York, Nov. 17-18, and the Outpost in the Burbs in Montclair, Dec. 22.

The album will include the following 12 tracks:

“Things Have Changed”
“It Ain’t Me Babe”
“Political World”
“Don’t Fall Apart on Me Tonight”
“Seeing the Real You at Last ”
“Mama, You Been On My Mind”
“Ain’t Talkin’ ”
“The Times They Are a-Changin’ ”
“What Was It You Wanted”
“Emotionally Yours”
“Do Right to Me Baby (Do Unto Others)”
“Going, Going, Gone”
