Ringo Starr says he will postpone his 2021 tour to 2022.

Appearing on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” March 16, Ringo Starr said that he will be moving his 2021 tour with his All Starr Band — already postponed once because of the pandemic, from 2020 — to 2022.
The tour had been scheduled to start at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park and also come to the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank on June 12, with shows also scheduled for the Beacon Theatre in New York, The Met in Philadelphia, and other venues.
New dates include:
May 31, 2022: Paramount Theatre, Asbury Park
June 6-8, 2022: Beacon Theatre, New York
June 10, 2022: Count Basie Center for the Arts, Red Bank
June 19, 2022: The Met, Philadelphia
“I had a few downer days, I can tell you that,” Starr told Colbert, when asked about his life during the pandemic.
“In February (2020) I went shopping for clothes for the two tours I was going to do last year, and it’s still hanging up, unused. You know, when the dates came for the tour, I cancelled it. ‘I want to play! I want to play live!’ You know, ‘I want to be with the audience!’ And, you know, that was not going to happen. And, we had so little knowledge of what it was going to be like. In March (2020), I canceled the tour and I said, ‘Don’t worry, next year I’m going to do the exact same tour, the same venues, everything.’ And of course, that’s not going to happen. So I won’t be going on tour till next year.”
After Starr told Colbert that he has received his two vaccination shots, Colbert joked that he could go on tour without a band.
“But I’m not going to be there if people are in masks, with no connection and, like, six feet apart,” Starr said. “It’s like last night (March 14) at the Grammys. I went, ‘Peace and love!’ … Nothing.” Meaning, he received no response from the socially distanced audience.
The All Starr Band currently includes Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and Hamish Stuart.
