Rent Party moves outdoors for a free, day-long ‘Family Picnic’

Rent Party will present a “Family Picnic” at Maplecrest Park in Maplewood, Sept. 12.

Rent Party usually presents its concerts at The Woodland in Maplewood, but will move to Maplecrest Park, on Oakland Road in Maplewood, Sept. 12, for a free, all-day “Family Picnic” featuring sets by 11 Jersey bands.

All of Rent Party’s shows are benefits to fight hunger, and the Family Picnic also includes a food drive, so attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food, to donate to the cause.

Rent Party launched six years ago at the South Orange Elks Lodge, but moved to The Woodland (formerly The Women’s Club) last year.

Here is the Family Picnic schedule:

Noon: Ed Seifert & The Stimulus Package
12:55 p.m.: Rebecca Turner
1:50 p.m.: The Demolition String Band
2:45 p.m.: Marco Ranieri Band
3:40 p.m.: Bern & The Brights
4:35 p.m.: Miss Ohio
5:30 p.m.: The Thousand Pities
6:25 p.m.: Tri-State
7:20 p.m.: Wild Carnation
8:15 p.m.: Deena & The Laughing Boys
9:10 p.m.: Shark Hat
