Rockland-Bergen Music Festival announces schedule (John Prine, Steve Earle, Willie Nile and more)

by JAY LUSTIG
John Prine Rockland

John Prine performs at the Rockland-Bergen Music Festival, June 23.

John Prine had a busy week, last week, being honored at the “Inspired by John Prine” tribute at Public Arts in New York (featuring Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles and others) on June 12, and then being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame (by Raitt) at the Marriott Marquis Hotel on June 13.

He has only one other area appearance currently scheduled, and it will be at the Rockland-Bergen Music Festival in Tappan, N.Y. (near the Bergen County border). He’ll headline at German Masonic Park on June 23, after Steve Earle does the same on June 22.

The German Masonic Park shows are all-day, outdoor affairs, with music alternating on two stages so you don’t have to miss anything. The festival will also include shows at the ’76 House in Tappan, and the Turning Point in Piermont, N.Y., June 20-22; a Rockland Music Awards show on June 19 at Levity Live in West Nyack, N.Y.; and a wrap-up party at ’76 House, June 23.
