Rolling Stones to release live album and DVD documenting ’89 Atlantic City show

The Rolling Stones’ “Steel Wheels Live” will be released on Sept. 25.

On Dec. 19, 1989, as part of their Steel Wheels Tour, The Rollings Stones broadcast a guest-filled concert at Convention Center in Atlantic City (now known as Boardwalk Hall) as a pay-per-view special. The guests were Eric Clapton, Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin of Guns N’ Roses, and legendary bluesman John Lee Hooker.

The band has announced plans to release music and video from that show under the title “Steel Wheels Live.” Various formats will be available starting on Sept. 25, including 2-CD/1-DVD, 2-CD/Blu-ray and 4-LP (vinyl) sets.
