Rumors of the imminent closing of the adventurous Dunellen nightclub Roxy & Dukes Roadhouse have been swirling for several weeks, and the club’s owner has now addressed them, though there is still no definitive word on what the future holds.
A message posted by Jim Parks today on the club’s Facebook page confirms that “the time has come for things to change” but adds that the future direction is not know yet.
Parks says that there have been talks with “others (who) were very interested in taking the helm and steering Roxy & Dukes in fresh new directions” and also extends the offer to anyone interested in being involved in the club’s future to get in touch with him.
The club currently has events scheduled through New Year’s Eve. For information, visit roxyanddukes.com.
Here is the message in its entirety:
There have been a lot of rumors going around recently. Some of the information is true and some of it not.
What IS true is that the time has come for things to change here at Roxy & Dukes.
For us, R&D’s has been a labor of love that has expanded our lives in many ways. When the decision was made to “move on” and the word started to leak out, we came to find that others were very interested in taking the helm and steering Roxy & Dukes in fresh new directions.
We have had the pleasure of discussing potential plans with a few interested parties who approached us and now I’m extending that option to “you.”
Some of you may also be interested in continuing what we have begun so that R&D’s can continue to help artists and entertain patrons for years to come.
If you feel that you are someone that would be interested or know someone else that would, please reach out to us at: firstname.lastname@example.org
As we head into this Holiday Season, please be safe, healthy and happy!
We need your help!
