SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY

A New Jersey tradition — Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, around the time of July 4 — will have an international audience this year, as SiriusXM satellite radio will broadcast the performance, live.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for the band’s July 3 concert on the Pony’s outdoor Summer Stage, but there will be an opening act by Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, and the SiriusXM broadcast will begin at 8 p.m. on E Street Radio (channel 20). E Street Radio will also rebroadcast the show July 4 at noon and 8 p.m.

From July 1 through July 4, the channel, which primarily plays the music of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, will be having an “American Land Weekend,” which means “Bruce’s most patriotic songs” will be spotlighted regularly, except when the Southside Johnny and its rebroadcasts are playing.
