Pat DiNizio of The Smithereens turns 60 on Oct. 12 and, to celebrate, the band will headline a “60th Birthday Bash” at the Italian American Hall in his home town, Scotch Plains, Oct. 10.

Other performers will include Marshall Crenshaw, The Grip Weeds and DiNizio’s Beatles tribute band, The Scotchplainsmen, who will offer a set of John Lennon-written songs commemorating the 75th anniversary of Lennon’s birth (Oct. 9, 1940).

Tickets are $99, and include food and drink. They can be purchased via PayPay using the email address, merchandise@patdinizio.com.

According to a post on The Smithereens Facebook page: “This concert is a fundraiser to defray the cost of some of Pat’s medical expenses for his upcoming emergency surgery to restore the full use of Pat’s damaged right arm and hand which he needs to play guitar and write songs.”
