In November, The Bruce Springsteen Archives & Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch will present the premiere screening of a film of its 2025 American Music Honors event, at which John Fogerty, Smokey Robinson, Emmylou Harris, Tom Morello and Joe Ely were honored, and speeches about them were given by Bruce Springsteen (Fogerty and Ely), Patti Scialfa (Harris), Stevie Van Zandt (Robinson) and Nils Lofgren (Morello).
All of the above (except for Ely, who was unable to attend due to illness) also performed, with backing by Van Zandt’s Disciples of Soul band, led by singer-guitarist Marc Ribler. Previous American Music Award honorees Darlene Love and Jackson Browne performed as well, and Brian Williams served as the event’s host.

The screening will take place Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at The Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University. Tickets will go on sale Oct. 21 at 1 p.m.; visit springsteenarchives.org.
The first American Music Honors show, in 2023, honored Van Zandt, Love, Sam Moore and Steve Earle. Last year’s award recipients were Browne, John Mellencamp, Mavis Staples and Dion
