Stephen Colbert, who will appear with John Oliver at NJPAC in Newark on Nov. 19 in a fundraiser for the Montclair Film Festival, will perform at a different kind of MFF fundraiser in February, singing with the New York-based Losers Lounge band at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair.
The Feb. 4 “I Want My MFF!: A 1980s Dance Party” will feature live music by the Losers Lounge and “special performances” by the “Late Show” host, actor Patrick Wilson and “other special guests,” according to a press release. Proceeds will be used to help launch the Investors Bank Film & Media Center — the new home of the MFF’s film and education programs, which will open in April.
$100 tickets include access to the dance floor, two drink tickets and hors d’oeuvres. $200 VIP tickets include an open bar, raffle tickets, access to the VIP section during the main event and other amenities.Balcony seating is $25.
“We look forward to amazing night of classic 1980s hits, dancing, and revelry, and with Patrick Wilson and Stephen Colbert there to give us the gift of a song, this event promises to be a lot of fun for a great cause,” said MFF executive director Tom Hall in the press release.
VIP tickets are currently available at montclairfilmfest.org; other seats go on sale sale Nov. 21 at noon through that website as well as ticketmaster.com and the Wellmont box office.
