The Head and the Heart will perform at ParkStage in Freehold, June 26.

As previously announced, The Count Basie Center for the Arts, in partnership with Monmouth County Tourism, will present shows, this summer, at ParkStage, a new outdoor concert venue at East Freehold Showgrounds. The first three of “many” shows that will take place there this year have been announced:

June 19: Sublime
June 26: The Head and the Heart, Wilderado
July 11: The B-52s, The English Beat

(The June shows will be part of the North to Shore Festival.)

Tickets to the three shows will go on sale Jan. 30 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning Jan. 27 at 10 a.m., through ticketmaster.com and ParkStage.org.

This year marks both the 100th anniversary of Red Bank’s Count Basie Center (opened as The Carlton Theater in 1926) as well as the country’s 250th anniversary. ParkStage is a way “to commemorate those milestones,” said Adam Philipson, president and CEO of the Basie Center, at a June 30 press conference. “This venue will welcome thousands of people … to experience joy, connection, and unforgettable performances, right here in Monmouth County.”
