No one was daring enough to take on the music of Ravi Shankar. Or Sha Na Na. But 15 artists will play the music of one original Woodstock artist apiece at The Woodstock Potatoe Project, taking place outside at the Red Mill Museum in Clinton — the site of the annual Black Potatoe Music Festival — Aug. 14-16.

The original Woodstock Festival took place on Aug. 15-17, 1969, in Bethel, N.Y.

Fittingly, the festival will begin, on Aug. 14, with Gregg Cagno playing the music of the first artist onstage at Woodstock, Richie Havens. And it will end with the Chris Bergson Trio playing songs by Jimi Hendrix, who closed the fest. Otherwise, the band order bears a similarity of the order of the original festival, though it does not follow it exactly.

Here is the schedule:

AUG. 14
6:30 p.m.: Gregg Cagno (Richie Havens)
7:30 p.m.: Donna Sparacio (Melanie)
8:30 p.m.: KC Cary (Arlo Guthrie)
9:30 p.m.: Carol Hammersma (Joan Baez)

AUG. 15
3 p.m.: The Matt Angus Thing (The Band)
4 p.m.: The Glimpses (John Sebastian)
5 p.m.: The Mike Montrey Band (The Grateful Dead)
6 p.m.: Jack Tannehill (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
7 p.m.: Chelsea Carlson (Janis Joplin)
8 p.m.: Flathead Sky (The Who)
9 p.m.: Jenny Cat (Jefferson Airplane)

AUG. 16
2 p.m.: Karl Dietel Five (Joe Cocker)
3:15 p.m.: Grasping at Straws (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young)
4:30 p.m.: Sid Whelan (Paul Butterfield Blues Band)
5:30 p.m.: Chris Bergson Trio (Jimi Hendrix)

Tickets will be $15 a day, $30 for a three-day pass, though in the current pre-sale, they are $13 and $25. Visit blackpotatoe.com.
