Virtual Stand Up for Heroes benefit will feature Springsteen, Jon Stewart, others

Stand Up for Heroes Springsteen Stewart

This year’s virtual Stand Up for Heroes benefit will feature Bruce Springsteen and Jon Stewart, among others.

The annual Stand Up for Heroes benefit will go virtual this year, airing on ABC News Live, Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, the Armed Forces Network and other outlets at 9 p.m. Nov. 18. Jon Stewart will host, and Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, who have often performed at past SUFH benefits, will be among the performers.

The event, co-presented by the Bob Woodruff Foundation and the New York Comedy Festival, will raise awareness and funds for the Woodruff Foundation, which assists veterans and military families. There will be no charge to watch it, but donations will be encouraged.

Other performers will include musicians Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley and Mickey Guyton, and comedians Tiffany Haddish, Nate Bargatze, Iliza Shlesinger and Ronny Chieng. Jeannie Gaffigan, Prince Harry and Ray Romano will also make appearances.

Springsteen has performed at 12 of the 13 previous Stand Up for Heroes benefits — skipping only the 2017 event, because it conflicted with his Broadway show — and used the occasions to showcase his joke-telling as well as his musical skills.
