The Let It All Hang Out Fest will take place Aug. 23-25 at the Waterloo Concert Field in Stanhope.
Many details remain to be announced. But among the events commemorating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock — which took place Aug. 15-17, 1969 in Bethel, N.Y. — will be a festival titled Let It All Hang Out at the Waterloo Concert Fields in Stanhope, Aug. 23-25. The website promises an assortment of “the best music from the 70s through today, performed by the finest local and regional acts, in multiple performance spaces.” Tickets, priced at $50 (a day) or $120 (for the three days), are currently on sale. But while eight or nine acts per day are promised, only three participants are listed: The C.C. Coletti Band, Nicholas Colavito, and Whiskey Crossing.
(March 4 Update: Six more acts are now listed: Splintered Sunlight (Grateful Dead tribute), Back to the Garden (Woodstock tribute), Kiss the Sky (Jimi Hendrix tribute), Experience Janis (Janis Joplin tribute), CSN Songs (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young tribute) and the Joe Cirotti Trio.
In the ’80s and ’90s, Waterloo was one of New Jersey’s most important concert venues. Acts booked there included The Allman Brothers Band, Bob Dylan, Phish, Neil Young, Elvis Costello and Bonnie Raitt. But it stopped presenting concerts regularly in the early 2000s.
The only major concert there in recent years was a blues festival featuring Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Robert Cray, Bernard Allison and others, in 2017.
