‘Dylan Archives II’ among additions to Asbury Park Music and Film Festival

One of the most notable highlights of the first two years of the Asbury Park Music & Film Festival was the “Dylan Archives” session last year, featuring rare Dylan concert and TV footage. And a “Dylan Archives II” show has been scheduled for this year. It will take place April 22 at 3 p.m. at House of Independents; tickets go on sale today at noon at apmff.com and the Stone Pony box office.

As was the case last year, the clips will come from Dylan’s personal archives, which are now owned by the University of Tulsa. Dylan’s manager, Jeff Rosen, is on the festival’s board.

Also newly announced: A conversation between E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg and Grammy Museum executive director Bob Santelli, April 22 at 4:45 p.m. at House of Independents. Tickets for this will also go on sale today at noon.

Already announced festival attractions include Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul, April 22 at the Paramount Theatre; the “Upstage All-Star Jam” (featuring Southside Johnny, Vini Lopez, David Sancious, Sonny Kenn and others), April 22 at the Paramount; Mike + the Mechanics, April 21 at House of Independents; and Robert Randolph and the Family Band, April 21 at the Stone Pony.

Also showing up recently on apmff.com: A screening of “Finding Joseph I,” a documentary about Paul “HR” Hudson of Bad Brains, and a Q&A session with him at House of Independents, April 22 at 12:30 p.m.; plus a screening of the movie “Imagine” plus live Beatles music featuring Marshall Crenshaw and member of The Weeklings, April 23 at noon at the Paramount Theatre.

The festival is scheduled to run April 20-23.
