Mari Yamamoto and Brendan Fraser co-star in “Rental Family,” which will be shown at this year’s Monclair Film Festival.

This year’s Oct. 17-26 Montclair Film Festival, which previously announced a few of its highlights, has now announced its complete schedule, with many notable events. Among them:

Brendan Fraser will attend the screening of “Rental Family” (see trailer below), in which he stars, and participate in a post-screening discussion with Stephen Colbert, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. at The Montclair Kimberley Academy Upper School.

Colbert will also moderate a discussion with director Spike Lee following a screening of Lee’s “Highest 2 Lowest” at The Wellmont Theater, Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m.

Jeremy Allen White stars in “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

Montclair resident Warren Zanes will participate in a question-and-answer session following a screening of “Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere” (see trailer below), Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at The Bellevue Theatre. The film is based on Zanes’ 2023 book, “Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska,” and Zanes also serves as executive producer for the movie.

Producer and star Lucy Liu and director Eric Lin will participate in a question-and-answer session following the screening of their “Rosemead” at The Bellevue Theatre, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.

Comedian and producer Tig Notaro and director Ryan White will participate in a question-and-answer session following the screening of their “Come See Me in the Good Light,” Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. at The Montclair Kimberley Academy Upper School.

E. Jean Carroll, the writer who successfully sued President Trump for defamation and sexual abuse, will be joined by director Ivy Meeropol at a discussion following the screening of the documentary “Ask E. Jean,” October 25 at 3:30 p.m. at The Montclair Kimberley Academy Upper School.

The long-dormant Bellevue Theatre will officially reopen Oct. 18 at noon with “The Sound of Music.” This classic movie ran for three years at this theater in the mid-’60s.

Tickets will go on sale for Montclair Film members Sept. 29 at 10 a.m., and to the general public, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. For more on the festival, visit montclairfilm.org.
