BARRY MANILOW
Barry Manilow has postponed 10 concerts — including one scheduled for April 14 at The Prudential Center in Newark — for unspecified medical reasons.
The Ticketmaster website states: “Please hold onto your tickets as they will be valid for the new date.”
Manilow, 82, is on his farewell tour, and the Newark show was billed as The Last Newark Concert.”
Manilow announced in December that he had to have surgery to have a cancerous spot on his lung removed, and that he was cancelling shows because of that. He was scheduled to return to the road this month.
In a People interview last month, Manilow said he was cancer-free. But the article’s writer, Jeff Nelson, also wrote that Manilow was “still on a long road to recovery.”
Manilow said, in the article: “It has really, really made me take stock of my life. This made me stop and think about: Have I done what I wanted to do, and have I made people happy? Have I been a good friend? All of those cornball things that I’ve read for all of my life, I started to think about that, too. It really did stop me in my tracks. And the answers are yes. And as a matter of fact, there are more yeses than I ever thought.”
Manilow still has concerts scheduled into early 2027, starting with six shows in May at The Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.
