2022 Light of Day WinterFest schedule announced

The 2022 Light of Day schedule has been announced.

(JAN. 4 UPDATE: All WinterFest shows have been postponed because of the COVID spike, with the main show moved to March 12 at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank.)

Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Willie Nile and Jesse Malin will be among the artists at the main Light of Day WinterFest 2022 event, taking place at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Jan. 14. Other festival performers will include Max Weinberg’s Jukebox, Dramarama Williams Honor, The Weeklings, Jeffrey Gaines, Albert Lee, Steve Forbert, Popa Chubby and James Maddock, plus two artists nominated for 2022 Grammys (Guy Davis and Linda Chorney).

More than 100 artists, in total, will play at 13 venues.

Here is the schedule as it currently stands, with ticket links for some shows. Shows are in Asbury Park unless otherwise noted. I will make updates here, as more information becomes available.

Jan. 9, 1 p.m.: “Cover Me” at The Stone Pony. Featuring Best of The Eagles (The Eagles tribute), Bob Burger & The Red Shoes (Elvis Costello/British Pub Rock tribute), Line Drive, Matt O’Ree Band (Led Zeppelin tribute), Sharon Lasher’s Heatwave! (Linda Ronstadt tribute).

Jan. 12, 7:30 p.m.: Steve Forbert & The New Renditions, Guy Davis, Jeffrey Gaines and Jeff Slate at Loft at City Winery, N.Y.
Jan. 12, 8 p.m.: Max Weinberg’s Jukebox at City Winery, N.Y.

Jan. 17, 10 a.m.: Goodbye Brunch at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club.

Proceeds will raise money and awareness for the battle against Parkinson’s disease and related illnesses ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and PSP (progressive supranuclear palsy). Light of Day has raised about $6 million for those causes over those years.
