The line “everything that dies, someday comes back” takes on new meaning in the Atlantic City-based band Originaire’s new video for their cover of the Bruce Springsteen song, “Atlantic City.” They shot the video in an Atlantic City that is now, because of the coronavirus crisis, temporarily dead, at least in a symbolic way, with the casino resorts closed and the boardwalk eerily empty.

Check it out, below.

The band is a trio, and singer-guitarist Ken Shiles and singer CiBon appear in the video. Violinist Valerie Vuolo, who lives in the Philadelphia area, was, one presumes, practicing social distancing and therefore not available.

The band posted the video to Facebook last week with the following message: “The best way we know how to voice what’s in our hearts, is to sing it. We made this video to meet you all in solidarity during this time of uncertainty and solitude. Atlantic City is our home, and we thought this to be the best way that we could show our love for it and for all of you.”

Shiles and CiBon also have been performing live on Facebook, during the crisis. Support them at facebook.com/originairemusic or via their website, originairemusic.com.
